This is certainly good news:
Former dictator Efrain Rios Montt was placed under house arrest Monday as a court weighs whether to charge him in connection with the death of a television journalist during a protest to support the ex-leader's presidential campaign.Judge Victor Herrera said house arrest was necessary to prevent Rios Montt from leaving the country.
Rios Montt lost immunity from prosecution as a member of Guatemala's congress when his term ended in January.
Let's hope he'll have to answer for some of his more abonimable acts.
