No real surprises in today's games in my opinion.
Arjen Robben for Holland was extremely impressive in their 1-0 victory over Serbia and Montenegro. I don't understand why Mateja Kezman was substituted for S & M, however. In any event, it appears that S & M will have a difficult time moving on while the Holland v Argentina game should be good.
I found it very moving to see the players swarm over Oswaldo Sánchez, their keeper, consoling him after the death of his father last week. It was also moving to see the Iranian keeper consol him before the game. Iran played better than I expected, but they got caught ballwatching on Zinha's insurance goal (I didn't see a red shirt with 6 meters of him) and a incredibly poor first touch by an Iranian defender made all the difference. Mexico's attack certainly apopears stronger than I thought and Jared Borghetti's injury may be a non-issue for them.
Luis Figo still has plenty of talent and led an inpressive attack in Portugal's 1-0 victory over Angola. Angola, for their part, have a lot to be proud of in their World Cup debut. They played a solid game despite the loss and made for some interesting football with some fast counterattacks. That should make the Iran-Angola game interesting.
Tomorrow's a big day: Us-Czech Republic; Australia-Japan and Italy-Ghana. Go USA, go Socceroos, go Black stars!

Portugal X Angola was a bit disappointing in the end, wasn't it? I thought poor Felipão Scolari would burst a vein or something!
