Caught Leonard Cohen's third in a series of sold-out concerts at Oakland's gem venue, The Paramount Theater, last night. Incredibly moving, brilliant performance with a wonderful ensemble. The veteran wordslinger is a wonder - at 75. If you get a chance to catch any show in his current tour, jump! Last night's performance was a three-hour tour-de-force that felt like a religous revival led by a Buddhist monk, if such a thing can be imagined. Cohen's generosity, humility, grace and genius were all evident in his abundant musical/literary offerings and in his wry, low-key enthusiasm for bringing it to us. I'd forgotten how - among other things - funny Cohen can be. I'm posting an older live clip - "Democracy":
