. . . and the teams are set:
Africa: Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and South Africa
Asia and Oceania: Australia, Japan, New Zealand, North Korea and South Korea
Europe: Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland,
North America: Honduras, Mexico and the USA
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The draw will be critical for nations like the US, Honduras and Australia.
For the record, being a fan of both Arsenal and FC Barcelona, I'm a fan of Thierry Henry, but today he got away with one. Diego Maradona must be grinning.

Randy, I confess I don't know how the elimination system works; how is it that Europe gets to have so many countries in these groupings?

and is there any chance that Ireland will get the do over they're asking for? I'm asking because I have a large contingent of relatives over from the old country for Thanksgiving (and shopping, especially shopping; they would have gotten a free meal from the American cousins one way or the other) and they are all mad as hell at France, the French, and anything even Gallic. I wouldnt mind this very much, but I'm getting tired of them yelling at me about it, as if the ref blowing the call is somehow my fault.
