Beyond the Pale

One can only speculate as to the depth of the lacuna in someone's soul, to say nothing of their basic sense of decency, to make a comment like the one Ta-Nehisi Coates received and writes about here.

It's beyond disgusting; it's lower than beneath contempt. Coates' reaction is classy and decent and reflects as positively on him as his antagonist's race-baiting comment reflects negatively on him.
